About me and my practice
My name is Amber. I truly understand that seeking therapy can be a significant and sometimes challenging decision. However, you have already taken an important step in beginning your journey.
In our sessions, my priority is cultivating an environment where you feel truly heard, valued, and empowered. I believe that building a genuine rapport and working collaboratively is vital to identifying and pursuing your desired goals. I aim to create a secure, supportive, and nonjudgmental space, allowing you to openly explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences in a way that feels comfortable for you.
I am committed to helping you each step of the way to make sense of your current challenges and navigate these to support you to move forward. By understanding yourself and your past, we can better address the issues that impact your life. Therapy with me focuses on improving your self-awareness and finding new coping mechanisms. We will achieve this by working at your pace.
My style is compassionate and client-focused, with an emphasis on building trust and establishing a strong therapeutic relationship. Together, we will work towards meaningful change and a path forward that aligns with your values and aspirations.

Initial Consultation
During your first session, we will spend some time getting to know each other for you to assess me and for me to understand your needs as part of your assessment.
Your assessment form, GDPR (General Data Protection Policy) and working agreement are sent digitally, for you to complete before our initial meeting. This will free up space in your session. It is equally important that you have a clear understanding of how your information is stored and shared and the limits to confidentiality as part of best practice.
In the forms you will be asked to provide some basic details which are merely routine practice. I am always happy to discuss and answer any questions to ensure you feel comfortable in therapy.
Appointments will be for 50 minutes.
